Jeanne Alter passed away March 15, 2003 from a Parkinsonism. She lived
in Rumson for over 30 years and raised nine children, but was a mom to
many more. Jeanne was always running a car load of kids to track, soccer,
football, softball, basketball, swimming, ice skating, gymnastics, field
hockey and wrestling meets. You get the picture. She was a very giving
and unselfish person. The greatest mom you can ever imagine. With all that
going on, Jeanne still found the time to workout herself She went to the
gym religiously until her illness left her unable to move.
Jeanne was very active in the Holy Cross Church and also volunteered at
The Monmouth Museum at Brookdale Community College. She was
passionate about giving and helping others and wanted to make sure her
children would follow her example.
So on this Mothers Day, I know mom will be watching, she’ll be your
biggest fan. And by participating in this race remember that you are helping
to find a cure for this disabling disease, Parkinson’s.
Thank you very much for coining out and running. We hope you had a good
time and we will see you next year!
