I was born in Charleston SC.I have been on the water almost my entire life. I
worked on an 80 ft shrimp boat during summer vacation in high school and a
commercial grouper boat during my college years. Throw in 20 plus years of
Professional King Mackerel tournament fishing with my oldest brother Lynn and
yes if seems like all my life on the water. The reason I mention this is I have a
working knowledge of many different aspects of the ocean and how to fish it. In
2007 I decided to get my Captains license. And begin a charter business out of
Southeastern NC. 2007 was an awesome first year for my clients and me and
it will only get better.
Fishing Area
We fish near shore up to 10 miles, Backwater From Figure Eight Island to the
Lower Cape Fear River down to the S.C. Line into Brunswick County. We have
done research and located over 35 of the many ships sunk during the Civil
War from Figure Eight Island to the tip of Baldhead Island and around Fort
Fisher.
Type of fishing
Most of our trips are done with live bait on light tackle. This will not be a meat
market trip with fish cranked in on heavy tackle or down riggers. We do cater to
wives and children. One of the biggest questions asked is will my wife or child
get seasick? This is the beauty of fishing backwater and the Cape Fear River.
It doesn’t require "sea legs". We have not lost a wife or child to seasickness
yet.
Provided on the trip
We provide the tackle, bait and ice. All the fisherman needs to bring is what
food and drinks they will need for the trip and don't forget a camera,
sunscreen, shades and a hat.
What are we going to catch?
We target the fish that live on these old wrecks. Top water Kings and Spanish
Mackerel on the bottom BIG Red Drum, Flounder, Bluefish and yes Sharks.
See photos. We offer 1/2 ,3/4 and full day trips. Trips start as low as $295.00
for a 1/2 day of fishing for 2. I can take up to four adults and two children.
Other Services
In addition to fishing we will also take you to your favorite restaurant by boat.
Dockside, Provision Co., Bridge Tender just to name a few. How about a trip to
Bird Island, Masonboro Island, Baldhead Island with bikes to visit the
lighthouse. Great family fun. We have a working knowledge of many creeks
and offer drop off and pick up for Kayakers have seen many deer, alligators,
Bald Eagles, Osprey and countless types of other birds and animals.
